WOOD WORKING CLASSES

Lathe Tool Sharpening
We will be offering a class that will go over the basics of grinders, grinding wheel selection and setup, and various jigs and their application (with emphasis on the Wolverine Grinding System). Specific techniques will be used to sharpen scrapers, gouges, and skews. Students will have a chance to work on their own tools during the 3-hour class session. Cost for this class is $40.00. This class is by appointment only, after we have received 3 or 4 people interested in the class we will set up a time that works for all people. Please let us know if you are interested.

Bowl Turning
It is time to turn now that your tools are sharpened. We will be offering a class that will give an overview for the beginner/intermediate turner who wants to get a better handle on bowl turning. Topics covered will include wood selection, preparation, mounting options, tool selection, sharpening, power sanding, and finishing. Focus will be on learning to turn a bowl and practicing correct "green" wood turning techniques. Cost for this class is $50.00 for 4 hours of instruction. This class is by appointment only, after we have received 3 or 4 people interested in the class we will set up a time that works for all people. Please let us know if you are interested. Please bring a Bowl Gouge or plan to buy one for this class.

Router Class
You will earn how to use this very versatile tool. This workshop will cover the basic uses of the router, including selecting the correct router and bit for various woodworking applications. It is recommended that you bring a router to this class. Class cost is $80.00 for instruction and materials. This class will also be offered as an appointment base class.

Router Class
We will be offering a one-day intermediate router class. This class will cover the many uses of the router table. You will also learn to cut circles and dados, using various shop-built jigs and fixtures. You will need to bring a router to this class.
Class cost is $80.00 for instruction and materials.
This class will also be offered as an appointment base class.

Oval Frame Class
We will be offering an oval frame class. In this class you learn to build a jig to cut an oval frame with a router. This shop-built fixture will allow you to build various sizes of oval frames. You must bring a router to this class.
Class cost is $55.00 for instruction and materials.
This class will also be offered as an appointment base class. If you cannot make it to the above times please let us know and we will set up a time that works for you. This class will also be offered as an appointment base class.

Wood Turning
On the first Saturday, beginning in October we will have a Wood Turning Guild meeting here at 11:00. This will be a great opportunity to come together share ideas and get tips for doing different projects.
