Do you have a hand plane but are confused with how to use it, how to adjust it? Do you wonder how all the parts work together? This class is a hands-on examination of hand plane types and sizes. A #3 bench plane through the #7 jointer. A Stanley block plane to a 60 1/2.

We will take them apart and explain what each part is intended to do. Then put everything back together again and put them to use. Comparisons between wood bodied and iron bodied planes will be discussed. At the end of the class you will have a full understanding of the strength and intended uses for the various types of hand planes. We will learn tips on how to joint boards for gluing, and practice your edge jointing skills

It is not necessary to bring a hand plane with you. Various planes will be provided for demonstration purposes as needed.
