LEARN THE EASY WAY TO TURN A WOODEN BOWL
This class is designed for the turner who wants to get a better handle on bowl turning. The 3/8” Bowl Gouge will be used for 98% of the work on the bowl, starting from a “green” bowl blank. The student will learn the Pull Cut, Bevel or Push Cut, and the Shear Cut. Topics covered will include safety, wood selection, preparation of the bowl blank, mounting options, tool selection, sharpening, sanding (both power and hand), and finishing options for the final project. You will leave the class with various handouts, a nearly finished bowl.
All classes are Fri/Sat Classes, are taught by Ernie Schutte, and cost $120 including all materials.

LEARN HOW TO TURN A THIN STEM GOBLET
Participants will learn to turn a small goblet above a long, very thin stem, with a small flared foot, featuring a captured ring on the thin stem. Some turning experience is required to successfully complete this project.

LATHE TOOL SHARPENING:

Class Length: 4 Hours
Cost: $45
Prerequisite: None
Bring: Your scrapers, gouges, and skews. Tools available for purchase day of class.
Topics Covered: Basics of grinders, grinding wheel selection and setup, various jigs and their application (with emphasis on the Wolverine Grinding System), specific techniques to sharpen scrapers, gouges, and skews.
OVAL FRAMES CLASS:

Class Level: Intermediate
Class Length: 4 Hours
Cost: $50
Prerequisite: Router Class I, or basic experience with a router.
Bring: A router. Tools available for purchase day of class.
Topics Covered: In this class you learn to build a jig to cut an oval frame with a router. This shop-built fixture will allow you to build various sizes of oval frames.
ROUTER CLASS I:

Topics Covered: This workshop will cover the basic uses of the router, including selecting the correct router and bits for various woodworking applications.
ROUTER CLASS II:

Class Level: Intermediate
Class Length: 4 Hours
Cost: $80
Prerequisite: Router Class I, or beginning router experience.
Bring: A router. Tools available for purchase day of class.
Topics Covered: This class will cover the many uses of the router table. You will also learn to cut circles and dados, using various shop-built jigs and fixtures.
WOOD TURNING GUILD MEETINGS:
Location & Date: Charlotte Store. The first Saturday of each month, September through May. Guild does not meet in June, July and August.
Time: 11:00 am.
Topics Covered: A great opportunity to share ideas, and tips for wood turning projects.
